Naf stands for Netherlands Antillian Florin. But just remember Naf, that will do it.
The Naf has a fixed exchange rate to the dollar. One US$ equals Naf 1.78.
At the reception you pay your rent or buy laundry coins.
We accept both US$ and Naf.
Besides in cash you can also pay with your credit card or ATM.

Opening a local bank account
Since you will be staying a year+ on the Island it is usefull to open your own bank account.
Most easy is with the Giro Bank which is ocated only 4 buildings down the road
A local bank account comes with an ATM card which allows you to pay the rent, in shops and in restaurants.
You parents can easily wire money into your account.
